Role OverviewThe Operations Manager provides overall leadership for a local customer service center, directing student transportation services, driver training, and vehicle maintenance programs to support the operating plan and business goals. The role involves promoting safe, efficient, and effective operations, monitoring staff training requirements, and ensuring compliance with company policies and regulations.
What You Will Do
Responsibilities include setting performance expectations, coaching and counseling direct reports, administering employee discipline, and overseeing compliance with state and district regulations. The Operations Manager will also attend meetings with school district representatives, prepare and submit customer-related reports, and manage customer or employee complaints.
Why It Might Be a Fit
The ideal candidate will have strong leadership skills, interpersonal skills, and a working knowledge of MS Office software and transportation-related software. A valid Commercial Driver's License with appropriate endorsements is also required. Bi-lingual abilities are a plus.
Requirements
- High School diploma or equivalent
- 5+ years' work experience required, with 3 years in ground transportation industry preferred
- Valid Commercial Driver's License with appropriate endorsements
- Strong leadership skills and interpersonal skills
- Strong working knowledge of MS Office Software (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, etc.) and transportation-related software
