Role OverviewThis is a one-semester program designed for students in their last semester of Process Technology instruction. The apprentice will train with and support process technicians while participating as a contributing member of the operations team. The apprentice will be responsible for monitoring and operating plant process equipment used in the manufacturing process.
What You Will Do
The apprentice will perform duties in adherence with LYB procedures, standards, and specifications. They will make rounds, assist with taking readings, and monitor and maintain day-to-day unit operations. They will also learn about health, safety, and environmental hazards.
Why It Might Be a Fit
Successful candidates will possess a strong GPA, completion of relevant technology coursework, and registration for the internship college course. They will also be able to work outside in various weather conditions, work 12-hour rotating shifts, and perform physical demands such as climbing stairs and ladders.
Requirements
- Maintain an overall GPA of 3.0 or higher on a 4.0 scale
- Completion of a minimum of 30 credit hours of relevant technology coursework
- Registration for the internship college course at their home college
- High School diploma or GED
- Ability to work outside in various weather conditions
- Ability to work 12-hour rotating shifts
- Ability to perform physical demands such as climbing stairs and ladders
