Role Overview

The Ophthalmic Scribe is a valuable member of the eye care team, primarily responsible for assisting ophthalmologists and optometrists in documenting patient encounters and ensuring accurate medical records.

What You Will Do

Document patients accurately and efficiently in electronic health records (EHR) or other designated systems, capturing medical history, chief complaints, examination findings, and treatment plans.

Why It Might Be a Fit

Completion of a medical scribe training program or previous experience as a medical scribe is preferred but not required.

Requirements

  • Completion of a medical scribe training program or previous experience as a medical scribe
  • Familiarity with medical practice management and electronic medical record software
  • High school diploma or GED
  • IJCAHPO's Ophthalmic Scribe Certification
