Job Description
This is a part-time position, up to a 25-hour work week, for a Breastfeeding Peer Counselor at the Jackson County WIC Clinic. The employee will provide counseling and support to pregnant and breastfeeding mothers, and assist with prenatal classes, breastfeeding support groups, and other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Ability to communicate effectively
  • Knowledge of VENA
  • Knowledge of principles and techniques of effective communication
  • Knowledge of community resources
  • Knowledge of program objectives
  • Knowledge of basic arithmetic
  • Skilled in basic counseling techniques
  • Skilled in the Florida Nutrition Training Series
  • Skilled in Florida WIC Breastfeeding Peer Counseling Program
