Job Description
The position of OPS Environmental Specialist I involves conducting land management activities, restoring previously mined lands to Florida ecosystems, and participating in prescribed fires. The role includes field work and overnight travel throughout Polk County. The Florida Department of Environmental Protection is committed to protecting the state's unique environment and restoring land on thousands of acres.

Requirements

  • High school diploma
  • Valid driver's license
  • Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships

  • Ability to follow verbal and written instructions
  • Ability to work both independently and as a team

  • Ability to understand and apply applicable rules, regulations, policies and procedures
