Job Description
The Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission is seeking a OPS-Fish & Wildlife Technician to assist in surveying nesting seabird and shorebird populations, collect data, and perform other related tasks. The position will be based in Collier County, Florida, and will work from April to August.

Requirements

  • High school diploma
  • 1 year of post-high school experience in wildlife, fisheries, environmental, ecological or related fields
  • Vocational training or associate's degree in wildlife, fisheries, environmental, ecological or related fields may substitute for experience
  • Valid driver's license
  • Ability to use computers efficiently
  • Strong seabird, shorebird, and/or wading bird identification skills
  • Strong data management skills
  • Good communication and teamwork skills
  • Ability to work in hot and humid weather conditions
  • Flexibility to work a variable schedule, including weekends
