Job Description
Role Overview

The OPS Nutrition Educator provides WIC nutritional services in various sites throughout Volusia County and other future sites as needed. The role involves providing nutrition assessment, certification, and counseling of WIC applicants as a Competent Professional Authority (CPA).

What You Will Do

The main day-to-day responsibilities include assessing participants for high-risk status, completing high-risk care plans, providing low and high-risk contacts, and documenting interactive counseling sessions. The role also involves promoting breastfeeding for pregnant and postpartum women and providing healthcare referrals for community resources.

Requirements

  • Must be willing to physically come in the office to perform the duties & responsibilities of the positions
  • Must have current authorization to work in the United States without employer sponsorship
  • Must have a Bachelor’s degree or higher from an accredited college or university in nutrition science, community nutrition, clinical nutrition, dietetics, or public health nutrition
  • Must be willing to travel to outlaying sites using your own vehicle if needed (mileage will be provided in accordance with agency policy)
