Role OverviewThis is an hourly production position at the Thorlabs Ultrafast Optoelectronics (UFO) division in Ann Arbor, MI. The primary responsibility is to assemble and test opto-electronic instruments that contain precision optical, mechanical, and electronic components.
What You Will Do
Assemble and test optical, electrical, and mechanical components of varying sizes, including micro-assembly and wirebonding. Perform intricate soldering and de-soldering of fine, extremely small electronic components.
Why It Might Be a Fit
Must be able to understand written assembly, drawings, and test instructions for a wide range of products to properly assemble products to the highest of quality standards and with minimal scrap or rework.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED
- 2 years experience in soldering electronic parts on PCBs, including fine pitch surface mount parts (SMT)
- Intermediate level skill in Microsoft programs: Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
- Experienced with inventory cycle counting
