Job Description
The Optometry Assistant – Front Office is responsible for supporting efficient patient flow and registration duties while performing various aspects of the optometry front office patient visit.
Requirements
Support and monitor patient flow
Scrub appointments in advance
Distribute patients, including walk-ins
Assess patient's health needs
Schedule patient appointments
Collect demographics and insurance information
Register new and established patients
Capture and update insurance information
Complete enrollment and necessary forms
Ensure forms and insurance cards are scanned and indexed
Reconcile and deposit payments
Generate daily bank deposit and reporting
Obtain medical record releases
Perform documentation in electronic health record
Follow procedures for opening and closing the health center or optometry office
