Job Description
The Optometry Assistant – Front Office is responsible for supporting efficient patient flow and registration duties while performing various aspects of the optometry front office patient visit.

Requirements

  • Support and monitor patient flow
  • Scrub appointments in advance
  • Distribute patients, including walk-ins
  • Assess patient's health needs
  • Schedule patient appointments
  • Collect demographics and insurance information
  • Register new and established patients
  • Capture and update insurance information
  • Complete enrollment and necessary forms
  • Ensure forms and insurance cards are scanned and indexed
  • Reconcile and deposit payments
  • Generate daily bank deposit and reporting
  • Obtain medical record releases
  • Perform documentation in electronic health record
  • Follow procedures for opening and closing the health center or optometry office
