Role Overview

The Organ Procurement Coordinator performs a variety of duties related to increasing the availability of suitable organs and tissues for transplantation. This includes identification and management of the organ donor, placement of organs, operating room responsibilities, and post-organ donation debriefing. The role also involves hospital and community education and development to increase organ and tissue donor awareness.

What You Will Do

The Organ Procurement Coordinator will participate in a rotating call schedule, carry a smartphone, and perform duties such as organ donor identification, electronic medical record documentation, and family dynamics/authorization process. They will also work with hospital staff to coordinate educational programs and participate in community service activities.
