Organics Receiving Area (ORA) Operator

The Organics Receiving Area (ORA) Operator performs skilled work in operating the day-to-day functions of depackaging food waste. Reporting to the Operations Manager, the ORA Operator is responsible for depackaging food waste, managing truck loads, and communicating with team leads. The role requires a high school diploma and valid driver's license. The ORA Operator will work in an industrial environment, with limited exposure to hazardous materials and/or toxic fumes. The role involves operating heavy machinery, lifting objects up to 50lbs, and working in a fast-paced environment.

What You Will Do

The ORA Operator will be responsible for depackaging food waste, managing truck loads, and communicating with team leads. They will also be responsible for completing daily rounds of equipment, accurately recording operational parameters, and writing work orders on work management software. The ORA Operator will support and promote a safe working environment, adhering to the company safety program and ensuring that outside contractors work in a safe manner.

Requirements

• Valid driver's license
• Ability to regularly lift, move, push and/or pull objects weighing up to 50lbs
• Ability to operate heavy machinery/equipment including forklift
• High School Diploma Required
• Maintenance and operating experience in an industrial processing environment
• Operational experience may be supplemented with military experience or training in a related field
• A relevant background in safety procedures/practices
• Fundamental proficiency in Windows-based applications (Outlook, Word, and Excel) on a PC or tablet
