Role OverviewUnder the general supervision of the Clinical Manager or their designee, the incumbent performs various administrative duties to expedite each patient's visit for clinical care at Rhode Island Hospital. These duties include preparation of patient records, registration and pre-registration activities, problem resolution, appointment scheduling, and co-payment preparation and collection. Ancillary duties provide tracking and status of follow-up care as it pertains to specific diagnostic coding, billing/payment resolution, and generation of system reports.
What You Will Do
Schedule patients using the hospital's scheduling system, including establishing appointment type, provider clinic, and time. Complete pre-registration and registration processes using the online billing system, verify demographic data and insurance authorization, collect co-payments, and provide receipts. Handle coding and billing by entering diagnosis/service codes from encounter sheets and verifying appropriateness. Obtain and organize medical records for use by physicians and nurses, ensuring completeness prior to visits.
