Job Description
Join Miraval Austin Resort and Spa as our Full Time Outdoor Adventure Guide and be part of a team that values empathy and respect. You'll have access to fitness center, hiking trails, and wellness programs, and opportunities for professional training and leadership growth.
Requirements
Interest in and knowledge about the natural world, including the Texas Hill Country, or a curiosity to learn about our natural habitat.
Strong interpersonal skills, strong customer service skills, strong group management skills, and strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
Ability to be flexible in regard to scheduling and daily duties.
Facilitation and problem-solving skills, detail oriented, creative, and flexible.
Ability to communicate effectively and professionally and work as a team player.
Excellent presentation and teaching skills, climbing ability and comfortable working at heights of 30-50ft to include traversing cables.
Technical proficiency with ropes, helmets, harnesses, hardware and several belay techniques and willingness to be trained on high ropes and challenge course elements.
Ability to perform, or learn to perform, and facilitate all activities related to outdoor adventure.
Ability to repeatedly lift and carry outdoor adventure equipment including stand up paddle boards, kayaks, climbing gear.
Interest in mindfulness, wellbeing and mind-body-soul connection.
Enthusiastic about delivering experiences in all weather conditions.
Decision making within the best interest of the department and Miraval.
Proficient at Microsoft Office particularly Outlook.
Must be able to work a flexible schedule including days, nights, weekends and holidays.
Must be able to work outside in all types of weather conditions.
Must have valid Driver's License.
Perform other duties as assigned by department or resort leadership.
