Role OverviewThe Outdoor Adventure Guide will lead guest-facing programs for leisure guests and corporate groups, delivering a quality experience for all. They will facilitate activities related to outdoor adventure, maintain equipment, and perform other duties as assigned.
What You Will Do
The Outdoor Adventure Guide will serve as a leader among peers, receive performance feedback, and adjust accordingly. They will communicate effectively and professionally, work as a team player, and take direction from leadership.
Why It Might Be a Fit
This role requires a strong interest in and knowledge about the natural world, including the Texas Hill Country. The ideal candidate will have excellent presentation and teaching skills, be able to hike at a 3-4 mile/hour pace, and be comfortable working at heights of 30-50ft.
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience in facilitation and/or guiding outdoor adventure programs
- 1 – 2+ years guiding experience hiking
- 1 – 5+ years of experience in facilitation of High and Low Ropes Elements
- First Aid/CPR certification or ability to obtain within 30 days of start date
- ACCT Facilitator Level I or II preferred or willingness to complete provided training
- Wilderness First Aid and Wilderness First Responder certification preferred or willingness to complete provided training
- Lifeguard certification preferred or willingness to complete provided lifeguard training and pass lifeguard test required for role
- Trained or willing to be trained at facilitating stand up paddleboard and kayaking
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
- Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or associates of organization
- English language skills
