Job Description
Outpatient Acute Care Coder is responsible for assigning diagnostic and procedural codes to patient charts of moderate to high complexity, abiding by coding rules and regulations, and working collaboratively with a supportive team.

Requirements

  • One to three years of experience in medical record coding in an acute care setting
  • High school diploma or equivalent, Associate's degree in Health Information, Nursing, or related field, or formal coding classes completed and passed
  • AHIMA or AAPC Certification, such as RHIA, RHIT, CCS, CPC, CIRCC, COC
  • Functional knowledge of EMR, encoder, and CDI tools
  • Microsoft Office proficiency
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
