Role OverviewThe Overnight Shelter Associate will follow procedures and guidelines to maintain structure and order in the living environment, accurately complete documentation, and enforce shelter rules. The role requires working with people in crisis, remaining calm in stressful situations, and effectively communicating with diverse clients. The Associate will work in a team environment and may be required to work at other shelter locations.
What You Will Do
The Overnight Shelter Associate will respond to needs and crisis situations, mediate interpersonal problems, and enter resident information into daily logs. They will also maintain current knowledge of events and changes by reading old logs and enforce shelter rules uniformly.

Requirements
- Experience working with people in crisis
- Ability to remain calm in stressful and/or emergency situations
- Ability to effectively communicate verbally and in writing
- Basic knowledge of word processing and typing ability to enter resident information
- Knowledge of the service population’s cultural and socioeconomic characteristics
- Ability to interact effectively as a team member and independently with Agency staff and with a diverse client base
Benefits
- $25.00/hr. salary
- $1/hr. bilingual differential
