Role Overview

The Packaging Engineer is responsible for the design, development, validation, and continuous improvement of packaging solutions across Nova Biomedical's manufacturing facilities. This role leads and supports a broad range of projects including new product launches, cost reduction initiatives, sustainability efforts, packaging optimization, quality improvements, and supply chain efficiency programs.

What You Will Do

Lead packaging design, qualification, and validation activities, drive packaging standardization initiatives, identify and implement packaging cost reduction opportunities, investigate and assess shipping damage incidents, collaborate with Supplier Quality Engineering, and serve as an internal subject matter expert for sustainable packaging solutions.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of relevant packaging experience
  • Safely lift, move, and position materials, equipment, and packaging components weighing up to 40 lbs
  • Support packaging development and testing activities by handling and transporting pallets, packaging materials, and finished products within manufacturing and warehouse operations
  • Perform frequent standing, walking, and movement between production and warehouse areas to evaluate packaging performance and manufacturing processes
  • Execute thorough visual assessments and quality inspections of packaging materials, prototypes, and finished products to verify compliance with design specifications and testing requirements
  • Travel to manufacturing facilities, suppliers, and external test laboratories to support packaging development, qualification testing, root cause investigations, and continuous improvement projects
