Job Description
The position is a paid internship with the Ohio Department of Transportation, Office of Maintenance Operations, where the selected candidate will work on establishing and maintaining pollinator habitats, performing vegetation and wildlife assessments, and participating in education programs.

Requirements

  • Experience using dichotomous keys and other tools to identify plants and animals
  • Experience removing vegetation by operating machinery, power tools, and hand pruners
  • Experience with public speaking, developing educational programs, creating interpretive signage, and designing educational publications
  • Experience collecting and managing large amounts of data to create reports using Microsoft Excel
  • Experience using Geographical Information System software and/or Google Earth to develop basic maps
