Role OverviewThe Painter III Lead is responsible for overseeing and leading the paint department team. The role requires a high level of skills to help with troubleshooting and problem resolution, and to lead the team in initiatives related to safety, quality, efficiency, and continuous improvement.
What You Will Do
Responsibilities include assigning and overseeing daily work assignments, reviewing department work, coordinating and managing technical training, cross-training employees, managing tool control, ensuring communication with engineers and maintenance, and performing safety audits.
Why It Might Be a Fit
The ideal candidate will have 3-5+ years of experience in automotive paint application, be familiar with all aspects of paint blending, repair, and application, and have a strong understanding of quality requirements for a product's acceptable finish paint.
Requirements
- Manufacturing, automotive production line experience preferred
- Ability to read, write, comprehend, and verbally communicate simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos in English
- Ability to run dual-action sanders, grinders, and miscellaneous hand tools
- Ability to spray primers with an air paint system
- Able to read and interpret shop orders to determine the color required
- Able to determine the proper surface condition for acceptance of paint and prepare it if required
- Must have full knowledge of quality requirements for a product's acceptable finish paint
- Ability to read and use linear and other measuring devices
- Able to consistently apply automotive coating to an acceptable level
- Ability to perform all operations within acceptable quality and time standards
