Painter

Performs work of moderate difficulty in painting and preparation of walls, ceilings, doors, and windows. Responsible for Planned (PM) and Corrective Maintenance of the Hospital and all Off-Site Clinics' interior and exterior services.

What You Will Do

Preps surfaces and applies paint, varnish, stain, wall cover, and other finishes. Decorates and protects interior and exterior surfaces, equipment, and furniture. Documents work order requests and inspects construction projects as needed.

Why It Might Be a Fit

Must have 2 years of painting experience as a Journeyman Painter or an approved equivalent combination of education and experience. Knowledge of the preparation and use of painting materials and equipment is required.

Requirements

• High school or Vocational school graduate
• Completion of an accredited painter's apprenticeship program
• 2 years painting experience as a Journeyman Painter
• Basic computer skills
• Considerable knowledge of the tools and methods of the painting trade
• Ability to exercise judgment in the selection of proper materials
• Ability to mix, blend, and match paints
• Working ability to read simple instructions
• Working ability to perform work involving considerable standing, reaching, and stooping
