Job Description
Para Special Education High Incidence assists the teacher in the education of students with cognitive, communication, social, behavioral, and emotional disabilities. The para provides instructional assistance, manages classroom routines, and intervenes in crisis situations. They also assist with student behavior plans, technology integration, and communication with students, parents, and staff.

Requirements

  • Supervises students in class setting
  • Assists in managing classroom routines and procedures
  • Assists in interventions to redirect behavior
  • Provides individual and/or group instruction
  • Assists students with self-advocacy
  • Assists students with the integration into regular education classroom
  • Maintains high level of confidentiality
  • Models appropriate behavior for students
  • Communicates with students, parents, and staff
