Role OverviewAssist a certificated/licensed staff in the education of students with special needs, including instructional assistance, organization, record keeping, and management of student behavior. Work in a regular classroom program where special education students are assigned. Participate in effective teaming skills, collaboration, conflict resolution, and communication.
What You Will Do
Supervise students, assist with classroom routines, redirect behavior, document incidents, provide feedback, and assist with student activities. Assist with implementing student behavior plans, integrating technology, and providing individual and/or group instruction. Evaluate student progress and share information with the teacher.

Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent
- Minimum of 48 accredited college credits verifiable with a transcript or pass a state-approved assessment
- Pass the Physical Capacity Test (PCP)
- In-service, training, or course work in first aid, symptoms of child abuse, and/or symptoms and signs of illness
- Knowledge and literacy of various sign language modalities, Braille, NCI (Nonviolent Crisis Intervention), and/or other special skills
