Role Overview

The ESOL Paraeducator helps deliver educational programs in elementary, middle, or high schools by supporting the teacher with individual or groups of students. They assist at school conferences, gatherings, or events, and provide support to ESOL and Migrant students during a 7-hour schedule.

What You Will Do

Assist students with lessons under direct supervision of the classroom teacher, assist students and reinforce concepts for individuals or small groups, work with teachers to modify activities to meet individual student's needs, and perform formal and/or informal assessment activities.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent
  • Minimum of 48 accredited college credits verifiable with a transcript or pass a state-approved assessment
  • Demonstrate proficiency and literacy skills in another language (for jobs defined as bilingual only)
