Role Overview

The Paraeducator will assist in maintaining and facilitating a learning environment that supports each child's emotional, physical, and intellectual development. The role involves working closely with the teacher to plan and implement curriculum activities, observing and understanding the strengths and needs of each child, and collaborating with the teacher and other staff to ensure parent involvement.

What You Will Do

Assist the teacher in establishing and maintaining a safe, nurturing, and developmentally appropriate classroom environment, consult with the teacher on plans and curriculum activities, and participate in all planned school activities.

The successful candidate will have an Associate Degree or 60 college credits, or a qualifying score on the ParaPro Assessment, and be able to work collaboratively with the teacher and other staff to provide a supportive and inclusive learning environment.

Requirements

  • Associate Degree or 60 college credits
  • ParaPro Assessment qualifying score
  • Physical ability to frequently lift, move, or hold children with a range of weight from 10-60 pounds
  • Physical ability to participate in activities that may require lifting, reaching, squatting, climbing, and sitting on the floor
  • Ability to maintain mental and physical alertness and the appropriate level of energy during the entire day
