Role OverviewSupport the overall mission of the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) as a Paralegal/Legal Assistant III. Assist attorneys in reviewing case material, gathering and analyzing evidence, and preparing cases for trial. Work with law enforcement agencies to investigate facts and laws of cases and search public records to prepare cases.
What You Will Do
Assist attorneys in reviewing case material, gathering and analyzing evidence, and preparing cases for trial. Investigate facts and laws of cases, search public records, and interview federal agents and other law enforcement officers. Prepare legal pleadings, motions, papers, and proposed orders, and organize and manage files, documents, and indexing exhibits.
Why It Might Be a Fit
This role requires a Paralegal Certificate with at least one-year paralegal experience, or a High School Diploma/GED with at least three-years' paralegal experience. Knowledge of forfeiture law, policies, and procedures, and trial experience are preferred. Excellent communication and organizational skills are required, as well as experience with Microsoft Office and other common software applications.
