Role OverviewAmerican Oversight is seeking a Paralegal to join its team. The Paralegal plays a critical role in supporting American Oversight’s legal team by issuing and tracking the progress of public records requests and processing and organizing related agency correspondence and documents.
What You Will Do
Manage the end-to-end lifecycle of FOIA and state open records requests, communicate with FOIA and state agency open records personnel, finalize and file requests, create and organize folders and database entries, process incoming document productions, and provide litigation case support to attorneys.

Requirements
- 2+ years of full-time experience working in a legal, administrative, operations, or other professional office environment
- Interest in American Oversight’s mission of government accountability and transparency
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Strong skills in time management, collaboration, problem solving, judgment and decision making, and communication
