Role OverviewThe Paralegal works under the direction of the Supervisory Paralegal to perform litigation support services, including compiling and preparing materials for attorneys, summarizing depositions, and maintaining case files. This role involves working collaboratively with teams of DOJ attorneys to handle a wide variety of litigation support tasks. The Paralegal will have an opportunity to grow their skillset and gain invaluable experience working closely with DOJ attorneys.
What You Will Do
The Paralegal will perform tasks such as compiling and preparing materials for attorneys, summarizing depositions, maintaining case files, indexing and tracking documents and exhibits, and assisting attorneys in courtroom. They will also review documents for relevance and privilege, perform simple legal research, and assist with database searches.
Why It Might Be a Fit
This role requires a Paralegal certificate, JD, or currently attending an ABA-accredited law school, having completed at least one year of study. The ideal candidate will have at least one year of litigation paralegal experience or project experience, and basic knowledge of standard legal citation and legal research tools such as LEXIS and Westlaw.

- Paralegal certificate, JD, or currently attending an ABA-accredited law school, having completed at least one year of study
- One year of legal training or legal experience or at least two years of college education
- At least one year of litigation paralegal experience or project experience
- Basic knowledge of standard legal citation and legal research tools such as LEXIS and Westlaw
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Thorough knowledge and hands-on familiarity with a variety of computer applications
- Basic familiarity with ESI tools and knowledge of eDiscovery procedures and resources
