Role Overview

The City of Moorhead is accepting applications for a variety of seasonal part-time and full-time temporary seasonal positions in the Parks and Recreation Department. Positions include leadership and assistant roles in various programs such as after-school activities, art, figure skating, lifeguarding, mini basketball, neighborhood recreation, preschool, recreation, sports sampling, swim lessons, youth basketball, youth flag football, youth volleyball, and warming house attendant. Positions are available in Moorhead, MN, and hours vary based on program schedule.

What You Will Do

Responsibilities include planning, leading, and supervising activities, interacting with children and their families, creating a fun and safe environment, and enforcing safety rules and regulations. Some positions require prior experience working with youth, strong communication and supervisory skills, and the ability to multitask and work independently.

Requirements

  • experience working with youth
  • strong communication and supervisory skills
  • ability to multitask and work independently
  • prior experience in specific areas (e.g., art, figure skating, lifeguarding)
  • current Lifeguard Certification (for Lifeguard position)
  • USFS/ISI skating background (for Figure Skating positions)
  • teaching experience (for Sports Sampler Coordinator and Youth Volleyball Coordinator positions)
  • driver's license (for Special Events Assistant II position)
