Role OverviewSt. Austin Catholic School is seeking a mission-driven, energetic basketball coach to lead one of our boys' or girls' teams (Grades 5/6 or 7/8) during the Winter 2026-2027 season. The coach will lead two 1.75-hour practices each week, coach one game per week, and teach fundamentals of dribbling, passing, shooting, defensive positioning, and communication.
What You Will Do
The coach will lead practices, coach games, teach fundamentals, communicate with student-athlete families, model Catholic values, and create a positive team culture.
Why It Might Be a Fit
The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of Catholic values, sportsmanship, and teamwork, and will be able to model these characteristics to student-athletes.
Requirements
- High school or equivalent
- Previous coaching and/or playing experience
- Current CPR certification and first aid training
- Must maintain compliance with the Diocese of Austin Ethics and Integrity in Ministry (EIM) policies
