Role OverviewThe Before/After-School Certified tutor is responsible for providing academic, social, physical, and skill development for students in specific grades/subject areas. The tutor will assist students in preparing for success as citizens and workers. This position is part-time and will be eliminated following the exhaustion of available federal funds.
What You Will Do
Generates tutoring plans, develops and assists students with academic exercises, compiles and prepares materials, reinforces knowledge and skills, assists teachers with instruction, and provides instructional support to students.
Why It Might Be a Fit
Must possess or be able to obtain certification in CPR and First Aid, and have a passing score on the ParaPro Assessment Test or an Associate's Degree from an accredited college or university.
Requirements
- Graduation from an accredited college or university with an Associate's Degree, or two (2) years of college (minimum of 48 semester hours)
- Passing score on the ParaPro Assessment Test
- One (1) year of experience working with children in an educational setting (preferred)
- Certification in CPR and First Aid
