PURPOSE AND SCOPE:
Under general supervision, the Part-Time Coordinator I, Lone Star College-Educational Preparation (G) facilitates daily operations within the Educational Preparation Program (EPP). Coordinates logistics, data entry, student physical and electronic records, and supports surrounding programs or departments. Responsible for compliance with policies, procedures and a variety of local, state and federal regulations, specifically the Texas Administrative Code, the Accountability System for Educator Preparation Programs (ASEP) and the Educator Certification Online System (ECOS). Makes and communicates process decisions based on best practices. Maintains and prepares state and local reports updated and current.
This is a temporary, grant-funded position. Continuation of the position from one academic year to the next is dependent upon continued grant funding.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
Facilitates daily operations of Educational Preparation Program. Maintains physical and electronic student records. Enters data daily in different databases, EPP spreadsheets, and various Texas Education Agency (TEA) data systems
Maintains current knowledge base of assigned area and acts as a point of contact for internal and external reporting systems
Assists EPP Manager and collaborates with other Continuing Education (CE) staff to ensure the program follows and meets all TEA requirements and TAC policies by closely monitoring student files
Assists with EPP phone related calls and emails as needed
Schedules and prioritizes work activities in relation to report deadlines, course schedules and other program activities
Assists with coordination of various department meetings, reporting systems, calendars, and schedules related to EPP
Provides support and remediation to LSC-EPP students for state certification exams.
Assists EPP Manager in administering large amounts of data in Excel, PeopleSoft and other reporting systems
Takes part in special projects as needed
Responsible for other reasonable related duties as assigned
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
Strong attention to accuracy and detail
Excellent knowledge of general office and software applications, especially Excel, Microsoft Forms, PeopleSoft, and databases
Ability to prepare and analyze reports with a large amount of data
Possess excellent organizational skills
Ability to prioritize duties
High level of customer service and collaboration
PHYSICAL ABILITIES:
The work is sedentary. Typically, the employee sits comfortably to do the work. However, there may be some walking; standing; bending; carrying of light items, such as papers, books, or small parts; or driving an automobile. No special physical demands are required to perform the work.
WORK SCHEDULE AND CONDITIONS:
Equipment used includes, PC workstation running on a LAN in a Microsoft Windows environment, calculator, phone and other general office equipment
Interface with internal and external contacts as needed to carry out the functions of the position
Work is performed in a climate-controlled office with minimal exposure to safety hazards
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Associate degree and at least 1 year of related work experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
