Role Overview

As a Direct Support Professional, you'll work in a home and community-based setting, supporting individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. You'll forge long-lasting relationships, encourage independence, and model positive examples of communication and behavior. You'll work with one person at a time, allowing for a high level of personalization and creativity in your work.

What You Will Do

Your primary duties will include being a good role model, advocating for the person you support, and supporting them in making choices about their goals and activities. You'll also perform tasks such as personal care, supervising, and completing billing documentation.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Experience working with people with developmental disabilities (preferred)
  • Professional verbal and written communication skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Outlook, and Word
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs. independently and assist in lifting weights exceeding 50 lbs.
  • Valid Driver's License
  • Ability to perform all physical interventions
