Role OverviewAs a part-time lifeguard, you will be responsible for maintaining safe swimming conditions, preventing accidents, and responding to emergency situations. You will also be expected to develop rapport and maintain effective relationships with members, participants, and other staff. The ideal candidate will be able to exercise mature judgment and sound decision-making, relate to people in a positive but firm manner, and effectively communicate information on YMCA programs.
What You Will Do
Your main day-to-day responsibilities will include maintaining safe swimming conditions, preventing accidents, responding to emergency situations, and enforcing health and safety rules. You will also be responsible for routine maintenance of the pool, locker rooms, and surrounding areas, and for checking pool and rescue equipment.
