Role OverviewThe Pastry Chef oversees the Bakery department, responsible for crafting various delectable baked goods, such as cakes, pies, tarts, and bread components, in accordance with Knott's Berry Farm Bakery and Pastry Standards. The role coordinates with the Executive Sous Chef and Executive Chef in pairing bread and desserts, ordering supplies, and planning and directing baking preparation. The Pastry Chef supervises a team of baking staff and is responsible for managing PAR levels, budgets, and scheduling, as well as other administrative tasks.
What You Will Do
The Pastry Chef ensures the timely production of baked goods that meet and/or exceed standards, including meeting the demands of menu specialties and special catering event requests. The role involves researching, developing, testing, and sampling new recipes, and putting chosen recipes into production. The Pastry Chef also ensures that all facilities and employees meet all health and safety guidelines established by law and the Company.

- ServSafe Food - Manager level certification
- California Food Handler's Card

- Computer skills, including knowledge of word processors, spreadsheets, and e-mail
- Food trak or inventory system experience
- Ability to work nights, weekends, and holiday periods
- Ability to pass a mandatory (or random) drug test
