Role OverviewKossuth Regional Health Center is seeking a Patient Access Representative to join our team. This front-line role is often the first point of contact for our patients and visitors, helping create a welcoming experience while ensuring registration, scheduling, and insurance information are handled accurately and efficiently.
What You Will Do
Welcome and assist patients, families, and visitors throughout their visit, register patients and verify demographic, insurance, and consent information, support patient flow by coordinating with providers, nurses, and other departments, answer phones, route calls, assist with scheduling, and manage switchboard operations, collect payments and connect patients with financial counseling resources when needed, maintain accurate patient information with the electronic medical record system, assist with clinic operations, clerical tasks, improvement initiatives, and departmental projects
Requirements
- high school diploma or equivalent
- 1-2 years of experience in a healthcare setting
- excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- basic computer skills and ability to learn new software
