Role OverviewThe Patient Access Representative is responsible for the entire scope of the registration process for patients seen at St. Luke's University Health Network. This includes correctly identifying patients, transcribing orders, completing registration screens, and verifying insurances. The representative communicates and coordinates with various departments to ensure excellent patient experience and clean claim submission.
What You Will Do
Responsibilities include correctly identifying patients, transcribing orders, completing registration screens, entering diagnosis and provider information, verifying insurances, and point of service cash collections. The representative may also require occasional travel between campuses or regional locations.
Why It Might Be a Fit
The ideal candidate will have excellent customer service and interpersonal skills, general computer experience, and the ability to type fluently, accurately, and quickly. Insurance background and knowledge of medical terminology are also preferred.
Requirements
- High school graduate or equivalent
- Certificate/Degree in health care related field
- Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills

- Knowledge of medical terminology
- Previous medical administrative experience and/or health care related education courses
- Knowledge of health information system (Epic)

- Flexibility to cover two to three shifts per week
