Role Overview

Under the guidance of the manager, the Patient Care Attendant Assistant Manager coordinates daily operations, staffing, and workflow to support safe, reliable, and patient-centered care at Vanderbilt Health, the region's largest comprehensive academic health system. This role supervises day-to-day performance, reinforces safety and compliance expectations, supports quality planning and improvement work, and contributes to operational and budget stewardship.

What You Will Do

Collaborates with the manager to operationalize the mission, strategic plan, policies, and operational plans for the PCA function; leads day-to-day performance of PCAs through ongoing assessment, rounding, coaching, and feedback; prepares and adjusts work schedules, monitors attendance, and oversees daily assignments; ensures effective operation through performance development, onboarding, training, and supervision of standard processes; reinforces patient observation and safety expectations; supports quality management by helping develop, implement, and monitor an area-specific quality plan; assists in administrative and financial stewardship including timekeeping and budget preparation.
