Role Overview

Under the direction of a Registered Nurse (RN), the Patient Care Technician (PCT) provides basic nursing care to patients and performs related tasks necessary to support the unit.

What You Will Do

Assist patients with activity of daily living, provide for patient comfort, and perform various tasks such as making beds, turning patients, and assisting with range-of-motion exercises.

The ideal candidate will have a basic understanding of Medical Terminology, Anatomy, Physiology, and Patient Confidentiality, and will be able to successfully complete unit-specific core competencies.

Requirements

  • Minimum High School Diploma or GED required
  • Current Certified Nurse Aide (CENA) certification
  • Current enrollment in a health science program
  • Equivalent experience in medical fields such as Medical Assistant, Paramedic, Medical First Responder, EMT, Nurse Tech, Resident Aid/Assistant, or LPN
  • Basic understanding of Medical Terminology, Anatomy, Physiology, and Patient Confidentiality
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS/CPR) provider
