Role Overview

Northwestern Medicine is seeking a Patient Care Technician for the Delnor Medical Surgical Unit. This full-time, night-shift role involves performing basic patient care activities under the supervision of an RN, reflecting the organization's patient-first approach and commitment to better healthcare.

What You Will Do

Perform basic nursing care activities as delegated by an RN, including monitoring vital signs, taking blood glucose measurements, and recording intake and output. Assist patients with personal care and activities of daily living such as bathing, grooming, and eating, and report abnormal findings to nursing staff. Maintain patient room cleanliness and serve as a liaison between patient care units and other departments.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Nursing students who have completed one clinical rotation
  • Certified Nursing Assistant, Certified Medical Assistant, Emergency Medical Technician, or nursing school students with one semester of clinical completed
  • CPR – Basic Life Support via American Heart Association
