Role OverviewNorthwestern Medicine is seeking a Patient Care Technician for the Inpatient-Delnor Orthopedic Oncology Med Surg Unit. This part-time role involves performing basic patient care activities under the supervision of an RN. The position reflects the mission, vision, and values of Northwestern Medicine.
What You Will Do
Perform basic nursing care activities as delegated by an RN, including monitoring vital signs, taking blood glucose measurements, and recording intake and output. Assist patients with personal care and activities of daily living such as bathing, grooming, and eating. Report abnormal findings to nursing staff and assist with keeping patient rooms clean and orderly. Manage unit workflow and serve as a liaison between patient care units and other departments.
