Role OverviewAt Northwestern Medicine, this Patient Care Technician role supports the Neuro Telemetry unit in McHenry, IL. Under the supervision of an RN, the technician performs basic patient care activities, reflecting the organization's patient-first approach and commitment to better healthcare.
What You Will Do
Perform basic nursing care activities as delegated by an RN, including monitoring vital signs, taking blood glucose measurements, and recording intake and output. Assist patients with personal care and activities of daily living such as bathing, grooming, and eating, and report abnormal findings to nursing staff. Manage unit workflow, answer telephones and call lights, and assist with keeping patient rooms clean and orderly.

This role requires a High School diploma or equivalent, certification as a CNA, CMA, EMT, or nursing school students with one semester of clinical completed, and BLS certification. Preferred qualifications include phlebotomy experience or graduation from an accredited Nursing Assistant or Phlebotomy program.
