Role Overview

Northwestern Medicine is seeking a Patient Care Technician for the Oncology unit at Palos Heights, IL. This part-time, in-person role involves performing basic patient care activities under the supervision of an RN, reflecting the organization's patient-first approach and commitment to better healthcare.

What You Will Do

Perform basic nursing care activities as delegated by an RN, including monitoring vital signs, taking blood glucose measurements, and recording intake and output. Assist patients with personal care and activities of daily living such as bathing, grooming, and eating, and report abnormal findings to nursing staff. Manage unit workflow, answer telephones and call lights, and serve as a liaison between patient care units and other departments.

This role requires a High School Diploma or equivalent, certification as a CNA, CMA, EMT, or nursing school students with one semester of clinical completed, and BLS certification. Candidates with phlebotomy experience or completion of an accredited Nursing Assistant program are preferred.
