Role OverviewNorthwestern Medicine is seeking a Patient Care Technician for the Wound Care Clinic. This casual (non-benefited) day shift position involves performing basic patient care activities under the supervision of an RN. The role is part-time and located in Palos Heights, IL.
What You Will Do
Perform basic nursing care activities as delegated by an RN, including monitoring vital signs, taking blood glucose measurements, and recording intake and output. Assist patients with personal care and activities of daily living such as bathing, grooming, and eating. Report abnormal findings to nursing staff and assist with keeping patient rooms clean and orderly. Serve as a liaison between patient care units and other departments, and manage unit workflow as needed.
Why It Might Be a Fit
Candidates should have a High School Diploma or equivalent and be a Certified Nursing Assistant, Certified Medical Assistant, Emergency Medical Technician, or a nursing school student with one semester of clinical completed. American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) is required. Phlebotomy experience is preferred. This is a casual position with no benefits and no holidays, with hours between 6:45 a.m. and 6:00 p.m.
