Job Description
Join our team and make a difference! The Patient Financial Advocate is responsible for screening patients on-site at hospitals for eligibility assistance programs and providing information and reports to client contact(s).

Requirements

  • Review hospital census or utilize established referral method to identify self-pay patients
  • Screen patients for State, County and/or Federal eligibility assistance programs
  • Initiate application process bedside when possible
  • Identify patient needs and assist with enrollment application to the appropriate agency
  • Provide transition for backend Patient Advocate Specialist
  • Document patient information on designated in-house screening sheet
  • Maintain positive working relationship with hospital staff
  • Report important occurrences to management
  • Maintain confidentiality of account information
  • Maintain neat and orderly workstation
  • Adhere to prescribed policies and procedures
