Role OverviewWe are searching for a Patient Sitter at Texas Children's Hospital for our West Campus Float Pool, someone who works well in a fast-paced hospital setting to ensure the safety of patients at risk of harm to self or others, under the direction and supervision of the Registered Nurse (RN). The role will float to EC, Acute Care, and Critical Care.
What You Will Do
Sitters are responsible for remaining with the assigned patient at all times during their assigned shift. They assist the R.N. to provide an environment conducive to safety for patients, visitors and employees, and assist in identifying patient response to care provided and reporting patient condition to the RN.
Why It Might Be a Fit
This role requires a high school diploma or GED, knowledge of basic nursing care, and the ability to respond quickly to requests and interact with people at all levels. Preferred qualifications include 1 year experience in a psychiatric inpatient or outpatient program, inpatient hospital experience, BLS certification, or CNA certification.
