Job Description
The role of the Patient Care Support (PCS) Companion (Patient Observer) is to provide constant safety observation of a patient identified to be at risk for causing unintentional or intentional injury to oneself or interfering with his/her/their care.

Requirements

  • Constant safety observation of patients at risk
  • Monitoring patients' behavior and escalating behavior
  • Accompanying patients to the bathroom and testing as needed
  • Maintaining patient safety and a safe environment
  • Demonstrating proficiency with the use of bed alarms
  • Observing and reporting patient's status and needs to nurse
  • Maintaining patient's clothing and belongings in the closet
