Role OverviewThe Patient Representative is responsible for performing billing, collecting, and accounts receivable transaction processing, and for handling billing inquiries for the Hospital and Clinic.
What You Will Do
Referrals, posting charges, payments for insurances, refunds and adjustments, hospital patient registrations, switchboard functions, and cashier duties.

Must have experience with medical terminology, computer experience, and knowledge of medical billing, with the ability to interact well with a variety of customers.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Experience with medical terminology or willingness to obtain within one year
- One to three years' experience in the health care setting
- Computer experience and knowledge of medical billing
- Six months of office experience, preferably in an ambulatory setting
- Basic computer skills
- Ability to operate a ten key calculator efficiently
- Ability to interact well with a variety of customers
- Ability to deal effectively with a wide variety of people
- Detail oriented
- Ability to multitask
- Ability to organize work with frequent interruptions
- Ability to maintain a high degree of confidentiality
- Ability to work with people in a courteous manner
