Job Description
As a Patient Transport Technician at Santa Monica Hospital, you will be responsible for positioning, transferring, and transporting patients to and from various departments or locations. You will also perform equipment maintenance, deliver and pick-up specimens, and transport deceased patients.

Requirements

  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association or Red Cross
  • Interpersonal skills to interact diplomatically and sensitively with acutely ill patients
  • Knowledge of basic computer skills to perform data entry and to obtain information from Hospital Systems utilizing a personal computer
  • Ability to push, pull, lift a minimum of 150 pounds
  • Knowledge of proper lifting techniques sustaining a safe work environment for self and co-workers
  • Skilled in English language in both written and verbal format
  • Good comprehension of written and verbal instruction
  • Ability to strictly obey healthcare regulations for Infection Control, and follow UCLA Policies and Procedures
  • Demonstrates a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail
