Role Overview

The Patient Transporter is responsible for safely and efficiently transporting patients, equipment, and miscellaneous supplies. The role involves interacting with patients and customers, communicating with other departments, and performing data entry and receiving dispatch information via the Tele-Tracking System.

What You Will Do

The main day-to-day responsibilities of the Patient Transporter include providing safe and efficient transport of patients, equipment, and supplies, performing transport duties as needed, and assisting in training new hires.

Why It Might Be a Fit

To be successful in this role, you should have basic patient care experience, knowledge of transport equipment, and proficiency in handling beds, wheelchairs, carts, and oxygen. You should also be able to pass fit testing for the N95 mask and understand the Patient Identification and Alert Process.

Requirements

  • High School Equivalent / GED
  • less than 1 year Basic patient care experience
  • Knowledge and handling of transport equipment (beds, wheelchairs, carts, oxygen)
  • Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS)
