Role OverviewTransports patients to and from examinations and treatments, performs general errands, and assists with patient care. Works as a team member to deliver quality patient care.
What You Will Do
Transports patients using wheelchairs, gurneys, or moveable beds, prepares patients for transport, and communicates with medical employees to ensure proper identification and transportation of patients and equipment.
Why It Might Be a Fit
Requires successful completion of on-the-job-training, high school diploma or equivalent, and BLS certification. Demonstrated communication skills and ability to understand and follow directions are essential.
Requirements
- Successful completion of three months of on-the-job-training
- High school diploma or equivalent
- BLS (AHA, American Heart Association) or BLS (ARC, American Red Cross) within 90 days of hire
- Understands and demonstrates safe lifting and transport techniques
- Knows and practices Universal Precautions as appropriate
- Demonstrated communication skills to interact with courtesy, tact, empathy, and professionalism
